ARE YOU THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR ME?

I know that therapy can be a very challenging process. My approach is to be compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental but also authentic and goal-oriented.

My primary aim is to help you develop specific skills which allow you to improve your well-being and solve your future problems by yourself. Together we will use concrete techniques and tools, which you will further practice yourself through regular home assignments.

What types of issues do you work with?

As a psychotherapist, I commonly work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, sleep problems, procrastination, lack of motivation, burnout, problems in establishing or maintaining romantic or social relationships, life crises, and more.

What types of issues do you not work with?

I don’t treat acute psychosis—including affective disorders with (severe) psychotic symptoms—and severe eating disorders. In my view, online therapy is not well-suited for treating these conditions.

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?

Cognitive behavioral therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts and beliefs can affect our feelings and behavior. It combines cognitive therapy (examining your thoughts) and behavioral therapy (examining your actions). CBT often makes use of talking therapy and practical exercises to teach you new skills for overcoming problems or to better cope with them.

Is the therapy confidential?

Yes, absolutely. I won’t disclose any information from our sessions, unless you specifically tell me otherwise or it’s likely you’ll be a serious threat to yourself or others.

Do I need to prepare for our first call?

There is nothing you need to prepare. However, some things can make our meeting more effective. For example, you could think about which specific results you want to achieve while working with me.

How much does the therapy cost?

The 50-minute sessions are 110€ per session. The first call is always free.
The hourly rate is based on the amount of money I need to spend on my expenses, supervision, and insurance. This price includes the time for the session itself but also preparation- and post-processing time, phone, and email support.
If you cannot afford the full price, please let me know! I can probably give you a reduced rate.

What happens during a typical therapy session?

We usually discuss homework, talk about your current problems, and establish what we want to work on during the session. At the end of each session, I will summarize the most important points of the session and ask for your feedback. We will also plan your homework for the next week.

How long does therapy last?

The duration of therapy depends on the complexity of the problems we are working on. We'll usually meet once every week or two, with sessions lasting usually 50 minutes.

Toward the end of therapy, we will gradually reduce the frequency of our meetings. Three to six months after the last session, we can arrange an additional meeting to evaluate the therapeutic success.

Can I contact you between our sessions?

Yes, definitely. During the first weeks, we will specify my availability for you between sessions.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you can't make a scheduled appointment, please let me know 24 hours in advance so we can reschedule. Cancellations at least 24 hours in advance are free of charge. Later cancellations will be charged the full cost of the session.

Which payment methods do you accept?

I accept payments via PayPal and via bank transfer.

I can’t find a therapy spot that fits my schedule

That’s okay, just contact me with your preferred time and date and I will try to work something out.
