Course Overview

This program unfolds over 8 weekly sessions on Tuesdays, each lasting 2 hours (with the first session extending to 2 hours and 30 minutes). In addition, a special Day of Mindfulness is scheduled after the 6th week on Sunday.

During each session, you'll learn various evidence-based mindfulness and cognitive therapy strategies designed to help you better manage negative thoughts and difficult emotions and reduce the risk of future depressive episodes. Each guided meditation practice or exercise will be followed by a group discussion.

Between each session, you will receive audio and written materials for personal practice (lasting up to 45 minutes) daily.

You'll join a group of up to 10 participants, guided by myself. I’m a licensed Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Compassion-Focused (CFT) therapist. I attended The Oxford Mindfulness Foundation’s (OMF) MBCT teacher training in 2019-2020 and I’m currently in the final certification process. (See here for more information about me.)

A certified MBCT supervisor oversees my work to ensure the highest quality and adherence to MBCT standards. For further details on MBCT, see here.

Who is it for?

This course is intended for those who have recently overcome a depressive episode, have a history of depression, or are currently experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of depression.

The course is not suitable for those dealing with severe depression, suicidal thoughts or urges, or who are significantly distressed by recent life events or stress, as mindfulness meditation could be more difficult or even unhelpful under these circumstances.

If you’re able to commit to all 8 sessions and the dedicated day of practice, with the time and motivation to engage in up to 45 minutes of personal practice daily, please fill out this form.

After completing the application form, you will be invited to an online individual meeting to make a mutual final decision on whether taking part in the course is the best course of action in your circumstances.

Applications close on Apr 16.
